No More Nightmares Relief Fund
Beginning in 2025, Laughing at My Nightmare, Inc. will be offering a program called the No More Nightmares Relief Fund, which will provide financial assistance and equipment replacement grants to individuals with disabilities. This program is designed to help individuals with urgent needs such as repairing or replacing adaptive equipment that was lost or damaged during a disaster, covering housing or transportation costs related to evacuation or relocation, and supporting other critical expenses that enable people with disabilities to regain stability and independence.
The Goal
The goal is to ensure that people with disabilities, who often face additional challenges during emergencies, have resources they need to recover and rebuild their lives. The program also raises awareness about the unique impacts disasters have on the disability community.
How it Works
The No More Nightmares Fund provides assistance to individuals with disabilities affected by disasters in two key ways:
-
Personal Needs Assistance: Individuals can receive financial aid in the form of $100-$500 Visa gift cards to cover essential personal needs like food, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. This immediate assistance helps recipients manage urgent needs during crisis situations.
-
Equipment Replacement Assistance *COMING SOON*: For those who have lost or damaged adaptive equipment, the fund offers support based on individual circumstances. Equipment replacement allowances are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that recipients get the tailored help they need to regain access to vital tools for daily living and independence.
This flexible and compassionate approach allows Laughing at My Nightmare to address both short-term survival needs and long-term recovery for people with disabilities after disasters and emergencies.
